Addiction (SUD or AUD) of any sort is not just a mere habit but crippling mental illness. The only way to overcome this condition is to seek treatment as soon as possible.

Drug addiction is a disease that affects the brain and behavior to the juncture in which the person loses authority over the use of drugs or medication. The drug could be either legal or illegal. Substances such as alcohol, marijuana, and nicotine are examples of drugs. Addiction in general means that you are unable to stop using it despite knowing that it is harmful to you or your loved ones.

Symptoms of addiction:

Addiction has its own symptoms which are further divided into two categories, psychological symptoms and social symptoms. It is beyond the patient’s control as the disease causes severe damage in the life of a person whether it is socially, personally or professionally.
